Blue December Mittens

A soft winter classic inspired by quiet December days in Norway – snowlight, candles and the calm rhythm of colourwork on your needles.

These mittens are knit in traditional Norwegian stranded technique, using gentle repeats and clear charting that make the pattern approachable whether you’re new to colourwork or already comfortable with it. The motif is crisp, the fit is timeless, and the finished pair is light, warm and perfect for everyday winter wear.

They’re worked in Norwegian yarn (fingering / sport) with a recommended gauge of 25–26 stitches per 10 cm / 4 in, using 3 mm needles (US 2.5). Any similar yarn with good stitch definition will work well.

Inside the pattern you’ll find:
– A beautifully designed chart
– Written instructions
– Yarn and needle guidance
– A clear, simple flow from cast–on to finishing

A lovely project on its own – and often the beginning of something bigger.
